Adding some Stillness to the Morning

Hey y’all,

I’ve been really working on my morning routine for awhile now. I’m trying to be more productive, but I find that what I’m trying causes me to feel like I’m hitting the ground running and to burn out after a few days.

This evening, I rewatched a video about Buddhist Monks. Their morning routine focuses on stillness. Rather than getting revved up for the day, they try to block out the world until after breakfast, and they focus on gratefulness instead.

That sounds pretty good to me. I’m going to shift a few things around in my day to put some stillness into my morning. (Just an example- I’m going to wait until after I enjoy my coffee to get dressed and wash my face. Washing it first thing definitely wakes me up, but it’s a bit fast.)
