Yarn Shop

Hey y’all,

I posted earlier about how I’d been crocheting a lot in anticipation of the baby. But even before the baby was thought of, I really enjoyed making things with yarn. I began with knitting when I was about ten, so I’ve been doing this sort of stuff for about fifteen years.

When I was still in grade school, I dreamed about having a yarn shop where I would sell my creations. Then I got older, and I realized the realities of rent and taxes and living in Texas and many other things. Having a yarn shop like I’d thought about wasn’t going to work out.

However, I’ve had people tell me for years that I should sell items on etsy. I tried a variation of that a while back (it’s more of a learning curve than you’d think). That attempt wasn’t too successful, but I did learn more about what works and what doesn’t, and I’m planning to give etsy another go once this baby is born. I’m going to go ahead and label June 20th (that should give me ample time to have this baby and recover fully) as the reopening of my etsy shop. I plan to have several smaller items like coaster sets and such, but I’m really excited to begin making big items.

This is a horrible picture, but, oh well

I crocheted this dragon 6 years ago. It has a 5-foot wingspan and still looks pretty awesome. I also made a foot-tall minion for my nephew a few Christmases ago.

I want to offer big, custom-made items in my shop. I love having a challenge to figure out. Working solely from patterns is boring to me.

I’m definitely still in the planning process, but my yarn shop is on it’s way!

Metta everyone! And wish me luck!
