Hey y’all,
The past couple of days has been rough. I’ve been getting so tired by 4 pm and going to bed around 8:30-9, when I can usually barely get myself tired enough to go to bed by 10:30.
So, what’s been different? Well, I’m pretty sure it has to do with the type of greens I’ve been putting in my smoothies. I try to get in and ounce or two of some kind of dark green leafy every morning, but in preparation for moving (and since I haven’t been into salads lately) I’ve been replacing my greens with my salad mix.
The salad mix is pretty healthy – as far as it being a salad – but it’s about 3/4 iceberg lettuce, which isn’t even a contender in the green-leafy-nutrition contest. (Also, don’t put iceberg in your smoothies. It tastes sooo awful. I almost couldn’t stomach it this morning, and I eat bitter greens on the reg. I thought it’d be fine – it was not.) My salad mix does contain some kale and raw carrot and red cabbage, but over the past three days, I definitely haven’t been getting the same amount of nutrients as I usually do when I eat all dark greens.
Thankfully, I decided to have a salad tonight, so all my salad mix is gone. Yay! Hopefully, within a day or two, my energy will return. I’m way further into my health journey than I was when I began, but I still haven’t stopped making mistakes yet. I’ll likely never stop making mistakes. I guess that’s life. But this might help you to not make this particular mistake.
Good luck and good health!
