Intermittent Fasting

Hey y’all,

Have you heard about intermittent fasting? Well, it’s pretty great. Basically, it’s the idea that you only eat for part of the day, and you don’t consume anything during the rest of the day.

This helps you lose weight and heal from things (disease or injury). When you consume food, the body releases insulin to help the food get to your cells to make energy. While insulin is present in the body, the body cannot burn fat (That Sugar Film). The body also cannot heal itself when it’s busy digesting food (The Healthy Life). Intermittent fasting is a fantastic tool to use to help you begin a healthier life.

Some people recommend eating for only 4 hours a day. I’m glad that works for them, but I’ve found that eating between 8 and 12 hours a day works well for me. Basically, that means I just have a late breakfast most of the time and stop eating by 7:30-8 pm. The rest of the time I’m sleeping, drinking water, or having tea with stevia. It’s very important that you use some sort of 0-calorie sweetener if you’re going to use something. I know some people that can skip breakfast and sometimes lunch just fine, but they drink soda during that time. Anything that raises blood sugar will trigger insulin, and you might as well have just eaten.
